Bridge Replacement Price Goes Up Millions in Just Two Years

Replacing the Interstate 5 Bridge, a vital connector between Oregon and Washington, is now expected to cost between $5 and $7.5 billion, according to updated cost estimates.

The revised price tag raises questions for lawmakers and taxpayers, OPB reports. Previous estimates from 2020, just two years ago, ranged between $3.2 and $4.8 billion.
