Dec. 16, 2021

A slow-moving wheel loader was rear ended by a pickup truck near Memphis, Missouri, causing an early-morning, four-vehicle accident that included a tanker truck that rolled over and caught fire. Another pickup truck hit the tanker trailer as it lay across the road.

The wheel loader operator was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was also charged with operating an implement on the highway between sunset and sunrise.

Four drivers were injured. The wheel loader suffered “moderate” damage, but the three trucks were totalled, according to the state police report.

KTVO posted photos from the scene.
