Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, was the scene of a grisly construction accident on Tuesday, once again illustrating the hazards of equipment backing up in work zones.

A worker at a construction site near downtown Grand Rapids died Sept. 22 after he was struck by a backing truck.

Grand Rapids Police said the accident happened in the morning hours at a construction area at Pearl Street NW and Front Avenue, near the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

The fully loaded truck was backing when it struck a man. The police department traffic unit is investigating the incident.
