Man steals ride to airport in backhoe

A man allegedly stole a backhoe-loader in order to make a flight out of Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois in Carbondale.

Security video shows the man parking the machine, exiting with a guitar case, and walking into the terminal. The owner of the backhoe arrived shortly after and told officers that it belonged to his company.

The alleged thief, Timothy J. Baggott, was arrested in Nevada, according to news reports.
