Develon. It’s a busy brand. So far in 2026, the company has rolled out five Dash 9 crawler excavators, two updated articulated dump trucks, and now the new DTL26 and DTL30 compact track loaders. We respect the steady pace. Because Develon has been catching our collective eye with these diverse product launches, we thought those two new CTLs would make the perfect subjects for our latest Weekly Iron video. Host Miles Cooksy (cool as ever) covers the DEF angle, key specs, those comfy cabs, and how really busy the compact track loader market has become.

Two CTLs below 74 horsepower

I would consider the DTL26 and DTL30 to be mid-sized CTLs, filling in the space below Develon’s beastly 115.3-horsepower DTL35. Both of these new units use a 71.4-horsepower Develon D24 diesel engine. Neither model requires diesel exhaust fluid or a selective catalytic reduction system. The two machines differ primarily in rated operating capacity:

• The DTL26 offers a 2,600-pound rated operating capacity at 35 percent of tipping load.
• The DTL30 increases rated operating capacity to 3,000 pounds at 35 percent of tipping load.

Both models are now shipping to Develon dealerships across North America.

Attachment power and operating features

An optional 27-gallon-per-minute high-flow auxiliary hydraulic system supports attachments such as brush cutters, cold planers, trenchers, and the like. Operators can also use creep control to manage travel speed independently from attachment performance. Other features include return-to-dig, bucket shake, and automatic self-leveling. Develon offers the DTL26 and DTL30 with enclosed cabs or open canopies. Choose wisely. There’s an 8-inch touchscreen to access machine info and settings. There’s a rearview camera that comes standard, which is cool, but buyers can also add a 270-degree Around View Monitor and ultrasonic proximity sensors, which might be cooler.

The options list also includes:

• A hydraulic quick coupler
• A 300-pound counterweight
• A torsion suspension system
• Triple-flange idlers or a fixed-frame undercarriage
• A reversible cooling fan
