Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) presented trade journalists with a virtual sneak preview of their 55,000-square-foot Conexpo exhibit in Las Vegas (March 3-7).
Out in the far-flung Festival Grounds, the stand will feature 14 new machines and highlight services such as machine control systems, site solutions, and advanced telematics. The middle of the exhibit will have an “operating pit” where attendees can test excavator models—both diesels and battery-electrics.
New product-wise, Volvo CE will be heavy on excavators as predicted, including a new ECR255, a 25-ton short-radius excavator. The ECR90 will replace the ECR88 with more breakout force and a more powerful new engine. Volvo will intro new wheeled models as well.
The company will also show the R70, a rigid-frame haul truck, which is in currently in testing with Volvo CE’s major accounts.

A revamped A60 will also draw interest. The 60-ton flagship of its ADT fleet, the new model will have 5% more productivity and 15% more fuel efficiency, Volvo says, along with automatic traction control.
For “Gold Rush” fans, there will be members of the crew, including Tony Beets, and influencer and Under 40 in Construction Equipment winner Chris Guins (Letsdig18).
