Genie Upgrades GTH-5519 Telehandler

Oct. 7, 2013

The Genie GTH-5519 telehandler has a Tier 4-Final Deutz TD 2.9 L4 engine that requires no DPF and uses a DOC. The Deutz TD 2.9 L4 engine is rated at 74 horsepower and meets emissions compliance with in-cylinder technology (including cooled exhaust gas recirculation) and a diesel oxidation catalyst as aftertreatment. A diesel particulate filter is not required.

With a maximum lift capacity of 5,500 pounds, maximum lift height of 19 feet, and an operating weight of 10,360 pounds, the Genie GTH-5519 telehandler is designed, says Genie, as a general-purpose machine, small enough to work comfortably on congested job sites and entirely competent to unload trucks, transport material, and efficiently handle attachments, such as augers and sweepers.

The new model features auxiliary hydraulics and is available with a quick coupler or a universal-style coupler that accommodates skid-steer loader attachments. The new telehandler’s specifications have changed slightly by reducing overall length by 5 inches, expanding its wheelbase by 2 inches, decreasing its turning radius by 3 inches, and by adding 540 lbs to its operating weight. Design refinements include a new hydrostatic transmission, redesign of engine and hydraulic cooling systems, and an added housing to allow access to hydraulic connections and air bleeding valves.

The GTH-5519’s cabin interior has been extensively refined, featuring a black dashboard with a new main-instrumentation cluster that provides an integrated display showing messages from the engine’s electronic control unit. A new, more-efficient defroster and ventilation unit keeps the cabin comfortable, says Genie, and a enhancements to interior trim adds to operator comfort and convenience.
