Astec Trenchers

The Astec line of chain-type trenchers ranges from a 13-hp walk-behind, to a 185-hp model also available with a rock saw. The 99.5-hp model RT960 shown here uses a hydrostatic ground-drive system that incorporates a two-speed hydraulic motor that drives through a two-speed planetary powershift transmission, allowing travel speeds to 10.5 mph. The machine features four-wheel steering, planetary axles and a hydrostatic, planetary-type trencher-drive system.
