Rivian confirmed plans to lay off 6 percent of its workforce, but said it would not reduce production labor in its plant in Normal, Illinois.
In June, the company said second-quarter production of its electric vehicles was 4,401, keeping it on track to deliver the 25,000 EVs targeted for the year.
According an internal company email obtained by various news sources, the move reflects concerns over inflation, rising interest rates, and commodity prices.
