Truck driver charged in bridge death

Darnell Yingling has been charged with vehicular homicide after the excavator he was towing hit a bridge, knocking debris onto a following SUV and killing the driver. A child in the vehicle was injured (Read “Woman killed by excavator knocked off trailer”).

According to news reports, the family of the SUV driver has filed a lawsuit against Yingling and his employer, Import Towing and Recovery, alleging that the excavator was not adequately secured for transport.
