Jerry Hernandez has accepted a plea deal regarding charges filed in response to a school bus crash that killed two people, according to an attorney representing victims of the incident. Hernandez had admitted to using cocaine the morning of the crash, March 22, 2024.
According to a report on KUT, Hernandez pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter, and prosecutors dropped two counts of criminally negligent homicide. He faces up to 18 years in prison, according to the report.
The concrete pump he was driving veered into the bus, which was carrying 44 children and 11 adults. The crash killed one child.

At least nine law suits have been filed against Hernandez and the company, FJM Concrete.
