The Verge has reported that The Boring Company, which has had a hand in digging some serious tunnels in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., and recently won a bid to build a high-speed express train under Chicago, can control a section of its boring machine with an Xbox controller.

You read that correctly, a video game controller can help run a huge machine. The Boring Company tweeted the video evidence.

The Verge also says this isn’t the first time a game controller has been repurposed for non-game activities. The Navy submarine USS Colorado has used an Xbox 360 controller to control its 360-degree rotating photonic mast.
