Trial on Negligence in Crane Accident Begins

April 13, 2023

Bigge Crane and Rigging, and Greystar Development and Construction, the company that hired them, are being sued for gross negligence in an accident that killed a woman in 2019 when a tower crane collapsed onto a downtown Dallas apartment.

Kiersten Smith, 29, died when the crane collapsed into her apartment.

The collapse occurred during a storm with high winds, which Bigge blames for the collapse. Six others in the apartment building were injured when the crane fell.
