Trimble's autonomous roller test

Roller successfully helps Canadian dam site.

Trimble has tested its autonomous technology on a smooth-drummed vibratory roller on a live job site in Canada.

Construction Equipment's Frank Raczon talked with Kevin Andrews, Trimble's director of autonomy, and Cameron Clark, the company's earthmoving industry director, about the results.

The Dynapac roller worked on a dam project in British Columbia alongside manned rollers. Data was uploaded into Trimble Earthworks to gauge progress and success on the project. Andrews and Cameron talk about their findings and what may be next for Trimble's go at the technology.
