The MCR Series of excavators (6MCR, 8MCR, 10MCR) can travel up to 6.2 mph and can work with loader buckets to move, spread, or fine grade material.
The units are designed to provide “the speed of a loader combined with the rotation of an excavator,” according to the company. The units offer a “true compact radius” of 360 degrees to the rear and the front, enabling a full swing in tight areas. The company’s patented boom folds 130 backwards to offer maximum stability and act as a natural counterweight.
These small excavators can lift 40 percent of their own weight, Mecalac says, because the boom is at the side of the cab and not the front. Operating weights range from 12,556 to 22,046 pounds.
