Truck Crash Kills Two Construction Workers in Pennsylvania
Two construction workers died on Route 30 in Valley Township, Pennsylvania, after being struck by a tractor-trailer during a four-vehicle crash eastbound on Route 30 on Monday.
A preliminary investigation determined that a tractor-trailer caused a multi-vehicle crash in which two construction workers were struck, according to police. Both construction workers were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said the incident took place near PennDOT’s 270.3 mile marker in Valley Township. Construction workers were implementing a traffic pattern in an established work zone on Route 30 prior to the collision.
Two additional individuals involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. They were transported to a nearby hospital.

The Chester County Coroner’s Office, Embreeville Criminal Investigation Unit, Troop J Forensic Services Unit, and Troop J Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialists Unit assisted the Embreeville Patrol Unit at the scene.
A spokesman for the Pennsylvania State Police declined to share the name of the tractor-trailer driver as well as the name of the company who had deployed the construction workers on Route 30 or if this was a contracted job site with an additional third party involved.
The investigation into this fatal crash remains ongoing.
