Maryland Ups Transportation Funding
The Maryland Department of Transportation wants to spend an additional $2.2 billion more as it prepares its 2023-2028 Consolidated Transportation Program, according to a report in Transportation Today, compared to its 2022-2027 plan.
The draft plan totals $19.9 billion in spending over its six years, including $6.9 billion on bridges, roads, and other transportation projects.
The report said the MDOT plan uses funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, improved estimates revenues, and an increased share of state corporate income tax revenue.
