Massachusetts Towns Receive Water Aid
Central Massachusetts towns have received roughly $44.3 million in loans and $5.6 million in loan forgiveness grants from the state treasurer to go towards improvements to drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, according to a release from the office of State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg.
In total, almost $24 million in grants and $229 million in low-interest loans were awarded to 26 communities across the state, seven of which were in Central Massachusetts, per the announcement reported in the Worcester Business Journal.
The communities benefiting include West Boylston, Fitchburg, Leominster, Blackstone, Ayer, Dudley, and East Brookfield.
