CNH Industrial has made a “tentative decision” to move production of Case dozers out of its plant in Burlington, Iowa, to other CNH facilities outside of the country, according to a statement by the company in response to an article in a local paper last week.
According to The Hawk Eye, the company is working with United Auto Workers Local 807 in a process called “decisional bargaining.”
“Talks are ongoing,” said a North American spokesperson for Case, who said an official announcement would be forthcoming once those talks are completed.
According to CNH, “This move is intended to optimize our global manufacturing operations. Upon completion, the manufacturing process in Burlington will become more streamlined and the facility will be transformed into a North American Manufacturing Center of Excellence for backhoes, tractor loaders, and rough terrain forklifts.”
