The 253-horsepower short-swing ECR355 Volvo excavator is a new generation upgrade. A new electro-hydraulic control system and redesigned main control valve allow the excavator to deliver up to 7% greater fuel efficiency than its predecessor as it optimized flow and pressure.
Operating weights range from 78,300 pounds to 81,870 pounds. Maximum dig depth is 22 feet 9 inches, and breakout force is 37,100 lb.-ft.
Lifting capacity has been boosted by 7% to about 26,600 pounds, and tractive force has been increased by 4%. The cab has been upgraded to a full-size conventional, providing additional space. Cooling has been improved, and noise levels have been reduced.
Active Control automates boom and bucket movements, allowing for a 45% increase in grading speed, compared to the predecessor. Smart View with People and Obstacle Detection uses 360-degree cameras and intelligent radar for site safety.
Precision joystick system and ergonomic switch layout allow operators to customize settings, and new electric travel pedals provide quicker response.
