Caterpillar Upgrades Mini Excavators

Models 305 CR, 308 CR, 309 CR, and 310 Cat mini excavators have been upgraded.

Cat 305 CR now offers ease-of-use E-Fence and Indicate for use with software-enabled attachment versions. E-Fence automatically constrains machine motion with preset boundaries that can set ceiling, floor, front, and swing limits. Indicate is an entry-level grade control system for bucket positioning relative to target grade.

Cat 308 CR, 309 CR, and 310 now have a Cat C2.8 engine, replacing the C3.3B engine. Power ratings remain the same. The C2.8 has a “fit for life” diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) that requires no maintenance.

The next-generation mini excavators each feature:

• Stick steer, which enables the operator to switch from conventional level/foot-pedal steering controls to joystick operation at the touch of a button.
• Cruise control, which minimizes operator interaction when traveling longer distances between work locations.
• Operator adjustable settings via a large touchscreen display, which provide intuitive machine function control and easy monitoring of critical operating parameters.
