The PC220LC-12 Komatsu excavator has an upgraded cab that is 28% larger than the predecessor PC210LC-11. The excavator is also available with intelligent machine control technology as the PC220LCi-12.

The PC220LC-12 has an operating weight range between 53,352 pounds and 54,675 pounds and maximum dig depth of 20 feet 11 inches. Its diesel engine delivers 173 horsepower at 2,000 rpm.

Bucket capacities range from 0.65 cubic foot to 1.85 cubic feet. Bucket breakout force is 35,715 lb.-ft.

Compared to the PC210LC-11, the cab has 30% more legroom and 50% improved visibility. A new electro-hydraulic system and engine provide up to a 20% increase in fuel efficiency. Maintenance costs are reduced by up to 20% due to longer replacement intervals for hydraulic oil and oil filters and longer cleaning intervals for the particulate filter, according to the company.

The PC220LCi-12 with IMC 3.0 features factory-integrated 3D boundary control, which enables operators to set a work-restriction surface for height, depth, front, back, and side boundaries. The machine is designed to stop automatically when it approaches a restricted zone.

A new operator ID system stores up to 50 profiles. Once an ID is entered, each operator has their personalized settings automatically loaded. Both models have a KomVision 360 camera for enhanced bird’s-eye views, people and object detection alert mode, and other safety features.
