Caterpillar renames soil compactors

Nomenclature based on weight class

Caterpillar is changing the nomenclature for some of its vibratory soil compactors. The compactors will now be identified by weight, with nomenclature referring to the metric tonnage class. Additionally, the model series descriptor letter suffix will be removed.

The line includes smooth and padfoot drum compactors, designated by either “S” or “P” in the model number.
