MEWP Hits Electric Line, Two Injured

Telescoping boom lift caught on fire

Two workers were injured when the MEWP on which they were working came into contact with a high-voltage power line, according to news reports.

The two were on a telescopic boom aerial work platform  several stories up, working outside of an apartment complex. According to reports, the MEWP caught fire as electricity arced through it, and rescuers could not approach until the power was cut off about 15 minutes later.
