Caterpillar MH3022, MH3024 Material Handlers

March 6, 2015

The Cat MH3022 and MH3024 material handlers have new engines and redesigned hydraulic systems. Powered by a Cat C7.1 ACERT engine rated at 169 horsepower and meeting Tier 4-Final standards, the units have operating weights of 22.7 and 25,7 metric tons, respectively.

The MH3022 has a 6.4-meter material handling boom and a 4.9-meter drop nose stick; the MH3024 has a 6.8-meter boom and 5.9-meter stick. Both units come with solid rubber tires. The emissions process included DEF, DOC and DPF with passive regeneration. An engine-idle shutdown system saves fuel by shutting down the engine when it has been idling for a preset amount of time. The three access steps have been redesigned, and a fourth step is integrated directly into the skirt of the upper carriage, just below the cab door. The engine is longitudinally mounted with the cooling package forward of the engine for groundlevel access to routine maintenance points.
