Walton Construction Assisting Marines LEED

The New Orleans Division, in conjunction with the St. Louis Division of Walton Construction Company, LLC, was recently awarded the contract to design and build the Parris Island Barracks Complex in Parris Island, SC. This $25.3-million project, which includes a three-story barracks, headquarters training complex and central mechanical plant, is scheduled to be complete by October 2010.

The New Orleans Division, in conjunction with the St. Louis Division of Walton Construction Company, LLC, was recently awarded the contract to design and build the Parris Island Barracks Complex in Parris Island, SC. This $25.3-million project, which includes a three-story barracks, headquarters training complex and central mechanical plant, is scheduled to be complete by October 2010.

The project will include a Marine barracks living quarters and a training facility for all Marine recruits east of the Mississippi River. All buildings will require a LEED certified rating including environmentally friendly design features, recyclable materials and energy efficient products.

The project team includes Department of the Navy — Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast, owner; Walton Construction, general contractor; and VOA Associates Incorporated.
