Wacker Neuson BS-2i Series

Sept. 28, 2010
An update to the engine cylinder reduced total emissions from Wacker Neuson’s oil-injected BS-2i Series two-cycle rammers by 38 percent. The emissions reduction puts Wacker Neuson’s WM 80 two-cycle engine below the EPA emissions limit for two-cycle engines, which the maker suggests will leave it as the only nameplate to continue to offer a two-cycle rammer. The new cylinder is also said to reduce fuel consumption by 15 percent. The rammers trade the familiar green bellows and silencer cover for gray bellows and yellow silencer cover, while the “WN” symbol and Wacker Neuson name acknowledge the merger of Germany’s Wacker Construction Equipment with Neuson Kramer of Austria.
