March 25, 2019

The Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) and Construction Equipment presented the 2019 Fleet Master Awards in a celebration on March 20, 2019, recognizing organizations that excel in cost-effective management of mixed fleets of on- and off-road mobile equipment.

Frank Raczon, Senior Editor of Construction Equipment, now in its 70th year, presented the awards during AEMP’s 37th Annual Conference and Annual Meeting, held in Orlando, Florida.

The Small Fleets Category winner (with fleet assets up to $100M estimated replacement value) was Branch Civil Incorporated. Branch Civil Inc., after a merger of two companies in 2018, Equipment Operations refined and created several new policies and procedures related to equipment management finances, information management, preventive maintenance and shop management.

“The information management and technology improvements have greatly increased our ability to maintain situational awareness and make quicker, real-time, field-level decisions,” said Tim Morgan, CEM. He added, “These processes and procedures are still evolving and represent the direction our management team will lead Equipment Operations toward the fulfillment of our mission both now and in the future. New lines of communication and procedures were required as the result of the merger of two companies.  The creation of our Situational Awareness Room (SAR) and communication processes associated with it includes a stand-alone rolling phone number and a dedicated email address, ensuring that customer needs are received and acted on in a timely manner. This process bridges the pre-merger differences and establishes standardized communications, which works across a wide geographic area and is scalable to match our projected and intended growth.”
