Caterpillar CB-564D — a vibratory, double-drum roller suited for work on sub-base, base and surface courses — is fitted with 84-inch-wide drums, has an operating weight of 27,783 pounds, and has a 124-hp (net) 3054C Cat engine. Equipped with the company's five-amplitude vibratory system, the machine operates with a fixed frequency and provides amplitudes that perform well on coarse mixes and thicker lifts, as well as on thin-lift applications. When fitted with Cat's Versa Vibe system, it provides two frequencies and four amplitudes, allowing the operator to make changes from the cab. The Versa Vibe system, says Cat, offers the contractor the versatility of both high working speed and high compaction energy. Estimated list price: $150,000–$200,000.
