Vermeer RTX450 Rubber-Track Trencher

Oct. 7, 2013

Vermeer has added to its RTX line of rubber-track trenchers with the RTX450, powered by a 49-horsepower Tier 4-Final engine.

The RTX450 is the smallest ride-on utility tractor in the market with quad tracks, according to the company, and has a track system that improves balance, stability and tractive effort while minimizing surface disruption. It also has an electronically controlled hydraulic pump to deliver power to the ground drive and attachment circuit.

The unit features the company's TrenchSense electronic control system, which actively monitors engine rpm and chain operation. The system can react faster than the operator to prevent engine stall when difficult digging conditions are encountered. A common control platform with other Vermeer ride-on trenchers allows for more efficient operator training.
