The PTX44 dedicated ride-on service plow also can accommodate a forward-mounted trencher and/or boring attachment. Powered by a 46.8-horsepower Kubota water-cooled gasoline engine, the PTX44 uses planetary axles and is equipped with electro-hydraulic controls that allow presetting creep speed. The operator’s station is positioned directly above the machine’s articulation point to enhance visibility of the work site, says Vermeer. Maximum installation depth for the plow is 24 inches, and the available trencher digs 6 inches wide and to 42 inches deep. The available bore attachment has a rotational force of 620 lb.-ft.
