Vanair Launches V-TEC

Nov. 12, 2019

Vanair has launched Vanair Total Electronic Control (V-TEC), providing  speed control with intuitive operation for air compressor and generator underdeck systems. According to the company, V-TEC manages engine speed relative to compressor demand to reduce fuel consumption, noise, and wear and tear on the engine. It also maintains precise engine speed in generator mode to ensure proper hertz.

The V-TEC also features built-in torque management provision that allows for a controlled ramp rate, which eliminates high torque spikes at start-up. According to the company, this feature ensures a smooth and soft PTO engagement.

The V-TEC comes pre-programmed for a specific vehicle make and model, eliminating the need for third party programming.

The system graphically displays compressor pressure, temperature, PTO activation, hours, as well as remaining oil and filter life. It will also display when a prescribed preventative maintenance is due. Prior to PTO engagement, the V-TEC conducts a check of the safety system to ensure that all safeties are functioning.
