Sept. 28, 2010

On November 17 New York Governor Pataki announced that numerous towns in upstate New York will share grants of more than $8 million to build or upgrade sewer systems and improve water distribution facilities. $8.075 million is being made available to Essex, Elizabethtown, Moriah, and Ticonderoga in Essex County; St. Regis Falls and Tupper Lake in Franklin County; Wanakena and Newton Falls in St. Lawrence County; Dannemora in Clinton County; Northampton in Fulton County; Indian Lake in Hamilton County; and Putnam in Washington County. Essex, the only community on Lake Champlain without a wastewater system, will spend $1 million of the grant to help build one. Pataki owns a 377-acre farm overlooking Lake Champlain near Essex.
