Nick oversees the operation and maintenance of the commission’s equipment across a variety of road projects.
“Nick has started at the bottom and worked his way up to his current position,” says David Kowalski, managing director/superintendent. “This position is very demanding and requires an almost 24 hour availability. There are not a lot of young people with a very high work ethic, or people who accept responsibility for their crew.”
Education: Bachelor’s degree, Northwood University
Professional accomplishments: Promoted to foreman at a younger age than most have in the past. Lead a team composed of both seasoned and new to the field employees.
Off the clock: Time with family camping, boating, and hunting.
Favorite book: “The Operator: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama bin Laden,” by Robert O’Neill, about the missions and training of Navy SEALs.
Extracurricular: An annual charity golf event honoring his father, which raises money for local causes. The event also provides two $1,000 scholarships to local high school students.
