Robotic boom will be mounted on a truck chassis.

Hadrian X, a truck-mounted brick-laying robot, will soon be available in the United States. The truck successfully built an outdoor structure with large U.S. format concrete masonry blocks at an average lay rate of 240 blocks per hour. It has a peak speed of 326 blocks per hour, according to the company.

The block-laying robot is manufactured by Australia-based FBR Limited and mounted on a truck chassis and will be available through FBR’s Wall as a Service operating entity in Florida.

The Hadrian X features a shuttle block delivery system capable of handling large blocks measuring up to 600x100x300mm (approximately 24x4x12 inches) and weighing up to 45kg (99 pounds). Using a telescopic boom, the robot can build structures up to three stories high while parked on the roadside.

Blocks are loaded into the back of the truck, then transported through the boom where a robotic arm places them.

The company anticipates the robot will eventually be able to complete the structural walls of a standard single-story house in a single day.
