Volta Trucks, a Swedish manufacturer of electric trucks, has filed for bankruptcy protection in Sweden, and for administration in the UK, where it has a plant.

Its website has been blocked and contains an announcement listing joint administrators Andrea Jakes, Mark Firmin and Joanne Hewitt-Schembri, who will manage the companies affairs, business, and property.

According to news reports, the move follows the bankruptcy of Volta battery suppler, Proterra. Not only was the company unable to obtain batteries, but it was also finding it difficult to raise capital.
