An engineer who has designed highways and intersections for three decades has gone viral after his pickup truck’s messages were noticed by the social media manager for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
According to a report in The News & Observer, NCDOT’s Aaron Schoonmaker was stuck in traffic and saw the pickup driven by Mike Lindgren. Lindgren had written some traffic safety reminders on the tailgate.
Schoonmaker posted an image of the truck on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and the Facebook post had garnered 16.7 million impressions when the report was published.
Who knows how exposure has grown, but it has certainly helped spread the word about highway safety.
