New York City’s Department of Sanitation cannot find electric garbage trucks powerful enough to plow snow, according to news reports. The city mounts plows on its rear-loading garbage trucks during the winter, but electric trucks have proven to only be able to handle four hours of work.
The department wants to convert its 6,000 trucks to electric, but the new electrics will not be used to plow snow, according to The Gothamist.
