Toro DD2226 Directional Drill

Nov. 1, 2017

The DD2226 horizontal directional drill has 22,000 pounds thrust/pull-back and a rotational torque of 2,600 lb.-ft. The drill incorporates Toro's next-generation TDOS-1 operating-system software with a SmartTouch control mode that allows advancing through the pipe-handling process with the touch of a rocker switch on the joystick. The software is designed for easy navigation, allows access to diagnostic and maintenance information, and displays all drill information on the machine's monitor.

The DD2226, with a 72-horsepower Yanmar Tier 4-F engine, has the capacity for 400 feet of 10-foot pipe, and the cam-style pipe-loading system allows rotating pipe in the rack, eliminating loading and unloading pipe manually. The system also provides the capacity for additional pipe to be side-loaded for bores exceeding 400 feet. A quad-pinion carriage design has a "dual-sided" rack to spread the load evenly for carriage stability. The drilling-fluid pump has a capacity of 31 gpm at 1,500 psi.
