Described by JLG as its “super compact” telehandler, the new G5-18A was rolled out in December 2007. With a maximum lifting capacity of 5,500 pounds, the G5-18A has a 1,850-pound lift capacity at the fully extended forward reach of nearly 11 feet. Powered by an 84-horsepower Perkins diesel engine, the telehandler combines hydrostatic transmission, four-wheel drive, and a choice of three steering modes for a minimum turning radius of 126 inches. Beyond machine specifications, JLG focused on operator comfort and extended service intervals in the design of the new machine.
