A 21-year-old worker was killed when a trench he was working in at apartment building near 3100 block of Lake Ridge Dr. in Dubuque, Iowa, collapsed and buried him under 7 to 8 feet of soil.
Upon arriving to the scene, authorities found excavation co-workers with company Smith Dirt Wrx attempting to dig out the man who was buried under the soil, according to a report from WGLR.com.
The worker was later idenitifed as 21-year-old Jacob Young, according to a report from KWWL.com.
No additional injuries were reported of local authorities or construction site employees.

The incident has been reported to OSHA and the investigation is ongoing.
