One Killed When SUV Hits Boom Truck in Pennsylvania

The SUV became lodged near the rear of the truck while a fire raged.

One man was killed when he attempted to pass a boom truck in his Volvo S60 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Exit 351 in Bensalem, Bucks County, and slammed into the rear of the truck. Photos from the scene indicate the boom truck is owned by Lift Techs Crane & Rigging, Chalfont, Pennsylvania.

According to a report from Levitownnow.com, authorities identified the man as Marcus G. Pochettino, 38, of Lafayette Hill, Montgomery County.

According to a report from 6 ABC News, the right lane of the turnpike and the westbound off-ramp at Exit 351 were temporarily closed after the crash.

Authorities told Levitownnow.com that Pochettino was traveling at an “excessive rate of speed” when he attempted to pass the crane. He then lost control and slammed into the rear of it.

The Volvo was dragged after becoming lodged in the rear of the truck, state police told Levitownnow.com.
