Uses bucket to unbury a worker in a trench.

An operator jumped into an excavator and unburied a co-worker who was buried in a collapsed trench in Ogden, Utah. The operator used the flat side of the bucket to push away mud in the trench, according to a report by KSLTV, then pulled him out of the trench.

Video shows the Doosan excavator next to an unsupported trench with water in it. The two were installing sewer lines in a residential development, according to reports. The buried worker was listed in critical condition. KSLTV cited a local fire rescue who said the operator’s actions saved the man’s life.
