A father-son team was attempting to load a JLG telescoping boom aerial lift onto a flatbed trailer in New York City when the MEWP struck and killed the son.
News reports identified the victim as Ommatt Cruz. His father was backing the lift up when it struck Cruz. Witnesses said the man was trying to direct traffic at the intersection of 1st Avenue and E. 7th Street when he was struck.
