Hit and run driver kills worker in Louisiana

Driver of the SUV was later found and arrested.

An early morning hit-and-run accident in an area under construction in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, resulted in the death of 36-year-old David Allen Smith.

News reports say Smith was walking outside of lane closures near the right shoulder when he was hit at 3:30 a.m. Police reports say Smith was struck by an SUV that then left the scene.

The vehicle was later found and the alleged driver identified as Isaiah Mayers, 24. He was later arrested.
