WSC Group must pay $50,000 in fines after a settlement found the company willfully exposed  employees to trench dangers. The final settlement was reached in the case of a worker who was killed in 2018 when a trench collapsed in Brooklyn, New York.

OSHA cited WSC for willfully failing to provide an adequate protective system for employees in a trench and for exposing them to other serious excavation hazards.

The company's owner, Jiaxi "Jimmy" Liu, was convicted in March 2023 for criminally negligent homicide and other charges.

Liu will not own, operate, supervise, or manage any company performing construction work. WSC has ceased operations and will not perform any future construction work.
