Worker rescued from crane 140 feet up

Knocked off the crane during dismantling

A worker was knocked off a tower crane, where a safety harness kept him suspended about 140 feet high. Emergency crews were able to rescue the worker, lowering him in a basket using a second crane.

The incident happened in Durham, North Carolina, as the tower crane was being dismantled, according to news reports.

A Facebook post by the Durham Fire Department showed images of the rescue. Responders were able to climb up the crane for the rescue, and 29 firefighters were on site.
