Deadly weekend as automobiles hit parked equipment

Three people killed

Three people died this weekend in separate incidents involving automobiles and parked construction equipment.

An automobile crashed into the rear of a parked Komatsu WA 250 PT wheel loader, killing two and sending three to the hospital.

According to news reports, police said the car turned into the wrong side of the roadway, which is a construction zone, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In Atlanta, the driver of an SUV drove through a road-closure sign and crashed into an excavator, according to news reports citing local police.

In Texas, an automobile hit the front end of a parked excavator, according to news reports. The impact demolished the car’s front end and sent it two lanes over. The driver was airlifted to a local hospital.
