New Law in Washington Targets Work Zone Speeding

Allows for the ticketing of vehicles caught speeding by a camera system Last week

Washington Governor Jay Inslee signed into law a bill that would allow for the ticketing of vehicles caught speeding by a camera system in a work zone.

Last week, six workers were killed in Maryland when a driver lost control of their vehicle and entered a work zone.

Inslee paired the signing with an event held by the Washington State Department of Transportation honoring workers killed or injured.

Next week is National Work Zone Awareness week, April 17-21.
