Topcon X62 andX42 Grade Controls for Excavators

Topcon added the X62 and X42 excavating control solutions to make basic laser grade control of excavators more affordable. The X62 includes core sensor infrastructure to precisely track bucket-tooth position, so it can easily be upgraded to three-dimensional GPS control at a cost of about $40,000. Operators interact with the system via the GX-60 touch-screen graphical display.

Operators interact with the system via the GX-60 touch-screen graphical display. The X42 supplies basic indication of bucket-cutting-edge depth. The new GX-40 graphical display has a keypad, and a detachable light bar indicates the bucket's position relative to the desired depth. An optional laser receiver can be added to both units for about $1,700, enabling the systems to read a constant laser benchmark. Estimated list price, X62 and X42: $20,000 and $17,000, respectively.
